Opera (Palais Garnier Opéra)
A building of bronze, marble, stone and finely worked gold, the Palais Garnier is one the city’s finest stages for classical dance pieces.
The architecture dates from the time of Napoleon III, and has to be seen to be believed.
A visit to the Opera house is also the occasion to take a walk up the Grands Boulevards, stopping off for a drink on the terrace of a café or taking a few minutes to see the Madeleine church just a few minutes away.
The Opera has also been a school for music and dance since the very beginning of the lyrical arts.
