PARIS RIVE GAUCHE

The Hôtels Paris Rive Gauche group is made up of six boutique hotels in Paris’ Left Bank. In June 2005 with the help of owners Corinne and Pascal Moncelli, marketing director Alain Bisotti launched their project: "A hotel photo, an artist’s view".

The idea was simple; each month a photographer would spend one night in one the group’s hotels and propose a single photo together with a short piece of text inspired by their stay.

Through the project, the Hôtels Paris Rive Gauche group has showed its commitment to supporting contemporary photography and give a helping hand to new talent.

Now, the Hôtels Paris Rive Gauche group wishes to continue the project and take it further by creating an annual prize to support photographic work.

In order to do this, they have decided to:
 organise an annual retrospective of the photos taken for the "A hotel photo, an artist’s view" project, and award a prize.
 create a catalogue for the exhibition.
 found an annual event to showcase contemporary photography.

The Hôtels Paris Rive Gauche group has decided to collaborate with FêtArt on the project. FêtArt is a non-profit association which has been organising exhibitions since 2005 to help emerging artists from the photographic sphere show their work to a wider audience.

This will be FêtArt’s first exhibition in Paris’ Left Bank.

The exhibition will be held at the Daguerre Studios, a symbolic place for photography as it was the one of the first ever photo studios in Paris.

The grand opening and cocktail will be held on Thursday 18th October. The exhibition will be open for two weeks afterwards.

The first prize in the "Hôtels Paris Rive Gauche Photo Award" is a gift of 3,000 euros.
