LES HOTELS
PARIS RIVE GAUCHE

The project is based on a simple concept: one photographer, one single photo, and one piece of text, all inspired by one night spent in one of the group’s hotels.

The photos were initially published online in a virtual gallery (http://www.hotels-paris-rive-gauche.com/galerie/en/) but the Hôtels Paris Rive Gauche group soon felt that it would be interesting to enrich and expand the project by organising an exhibition and founding a prize.

So, in 2007, the first Hôtels Paris Rive Gauche photographic prize was created, with 3,000 euros to be awarded not only by a jury of professional but also all the employees of the group, making them part of the project.

The jury will meet on 10th October 2007 to decide on their votes, and is made up of the following people:

 Agathe Gaillard : Agathe Gaillard Gallery,
 Corinne et Pascal Moncelli : owners of the Hôtels Paris Rive Gauche group,
 Malik Nejmi : photographer,
 Caroline Niémant : Peeping Tom Gallery,
 Pascal Philippe : Courrier International,
 Natacha Wolinski : Beaux Arts Magazine.

The photographers whose work will be exposed and who are in the running for the 2007 prize are:

Jérôme d’Almeida, Xavier Alphand, Franck Beloncle, Eugène Boischarbon, Caroline Constant, Damien Debin, Fréderic Delangle, Fréderic Durand, Olivier Gounot, Dominique Jumelle, Guillaume Lebrun, Gaëlle Magder, Bruno Nuttens, Bart Omeo, Ludovic Valognes and Valentine Vermeil.

The exhibition of "A hotel photo, an artist’s view" also includes a specially commissioned unreleased project. This year, Tatiana Margaux Bonhomme will be showing a series of photos entitled "You can do… what you want to".
