"In the night, images" – amazing (and free) end of year show at the Grand Palais, from 18th – 31st December 2008
To close the European Cultural Season of the French presidency of the European Union, this exceptional event will last just fourteen nights, with the façade, floor, walls and glass roof of the huge Grand Palais nave illuminated by a massive collection of artistic projections… A seriously impressive show to enjoy as soon as the sun goes down…

Photos, films, videos, interactive installations, projections by artists from all over Europe… This audiovisual multimedia installation shines the spotlight on the technological innovations of the last ten years, with more than 140 works projected onto the floor, wall, alcoves, glass roof and even exterior of the building.
The event is curated by Le Fresnoy – the National Studio of contemporary art, based in Tourcoing and dedicated to audiovisual and multimedia artforms. If you saw the last epic illumination of the Grand Palais back in 2005, you know that this is an event not to be missed, if only for the sheer scale of the thing…
