The English actress – who considers herself practically French – told the French magazine about her favourite places in Saint-Germain, the area where she lives and conicidentally where all our hotels are!

Ms Scott Thomas has lived in France since the age of 19, her ex-husband is French, all her children have been brought up here… it would be difficult to love the country more than she does. Newly single, 48 years old, and proud to be both, an article in last week’s Figaroscope gives details of her favourite addresses in Saint-Germain, just a hop and a skip from our hotels! If you want to bump into Kristin drinking tea (or would that be coffee? What de French-loving English people drink?), try going to the Rostand, just opposite the Jardin du Luxembourg. She says she likes the view, and loves the gardens for a quiet stroll…

Watch Kristin buy cheese at posh cheese shop Barthélémy. Apparently she loves French gastronomy and adores tasting cheeses from the various regions…

And you can even spy on her while she’s buying a new pair of tights at the Bon Marché department store! Or you might find her in the kitchen accessories section. Tellingly, she says there is perhaps something about the place that remind her of the England of her youth (she worked at Selfridges as a young girl living in London)…
