Auction of Nan Goldin’s personal belongings
7th April 2009 at Christie’s in Paris

A Parisian experience

A lot more down to earth than Yves Saint Laurent, (brilliant) photographer Nan Goldin is selling nearly forty items from her Paris apartment with a auction at Christie’s, including five of her photos…

Looks like Nan Goldin is upping sticks from her place in rue Oberkampf. 36 lots are on offer on 7th April 2009; period furniture, stuffed animals, medallions, mirros… a veritable cabinet of curiosities. You could even be the proud owner of ‘her’ black-lacquered dildo if have 300 euros to spare. Now there’s something to get the conversation going at your posh dinner parties!

In general, the lots are expected to raise a few thousand euros each, and a photo will cost you around 5.000 euros pour une photo. However they are not the most expensive items on offer; these stuffed siamese baby lambs are expected to go for at least 6.000 euros. Personally, they give me the shivers!

The lots are all on the Christie’s site here. The auction is on Tuesday 7th April 2009 at Christie’s, 9 avenue Matignon (métro Franklin D. Roosevelt, lines 1 & 9) at 1pm, 2pm and 6pm, but free veiwings are being held on the 4th & 6th April from 10am - 6pm, and the 5th April from 2 - 6pm
