In the splendid Palais Garnier or the – er – grey pile of the Opera Bastille, why not profit from your visit to Paris with a night at the ole opera? The posh seats are around 170 €, but the lowest prices start at just 5 € (although your view of the stage may be almost entirely compromised…).

For 2010, as always, the classics are well represented ; The Barber of Seville, La Bohème and Billy Bud for opera, the Nutcracker and a homage to Jerome Robbins for the dance, but also a zest of audaciousness with La Comédie Infernale by John Malkovich for one night only on 13th May 2010 (that’s a Thursday by the way).
All the details of the season can be seen here. Booking is best done on the internet (bookings open 29th June for the first productions).
