Photographer Fulvio Bonavia presents his photos of food presented as luxury items, displayed in the aisles of a unique Parisian ’supermarket’…

The French title for the shots is « Le goût du luxe » (A taste for luxury), and it would be difficult to find a place in Paris where taste and luxury meet more sublimely that at La Grande Epicerie, the high-end Left Bank supermarket adjoining and belonging to the Bon Marché department store.

Whilst doing your (luxury, upmarket, high-end) shopping you’ll be able to marvel at one of the fourteen photos by this Italian photographer displayed amongst the store’s beautifully displayed food, the first time that they have been seen as an exhibition (a book is also available here via amazon). There’s a cap made of artichoke, a cheese bag, ham ring, fish belt…

A good excuse for discovering or rediscovering this great food hall (even if your wallet will be severely thinned afterwards)…

The exhibition is at la Grande Epicerie (map here) from 23rd April – 17th May 2009. Open from 8.30am – 9pm every day except Mondays.
