9th Saint-Germain-des-Prés Jazz Festival
from 10th – 25th May 2009
They say it’s the European birthplace of jazz, and for the ninth year running Saint Germain is gearing up for its very own jazz festival with Kenny Barron, Kyle Eastwood (yep, Clint’s son) and lots of exciting new talent…

Yep, if there’s a ‘right’ place to listen to jazz in Paris, it’s on the Left Bank! During the 2009 Saint-Germain-des-Prés Jazz Festival you’ll be able to watch and listen to numerous free outdoor concerts (on the place Saint-Germain-des-Prés, for example) and others (for which you’ll have to buy tickets) in unusual, prestigious venues such as the Sorbonne University amphitheatre or le Showcase, a trendy nightclub nestled under the Alexandre III bridge (you know, the one with the golden horses and mad lights, just next to the Grand Palais).
Kenny Barron is perhaps the most well-known performer on the posters, but Kyle Eastwood – the son of filmmaker Clint Eastwood and self-confessed francophile – will also be giving a concert with his quintet and guest Manu Katché.
