Vintage Henri Cartier-Bresson exhibition
at the Paris Modern Art Museum
from 19th June – 13th September 2009
This retrospective called The Imaginary inspired by nature was initially shown in 1975 under the title 40 years of photography, and Cartier-Bresson himself donated the photos to the museum as a job lot in 1982…

The exhibition brings together 70 photos printed large (70 cm x 90 cm) the same way that they were shown in 1975 (with no frames), and is a sort of best of Cartier-Bresson’s work.

Most of the photos were taken in Europe over a long period of time (hence the original title), and together they give an interesting insight into the way a artists sees his own work.
Don’t forget that there aslo another Cartier Bresson exhibition at the MEP which continues from 25th June to 30th August 2009 (we told you all about it here).
The Henri Cartier-Bresson exhibition is at the Musée d’Art moderne de la Ville de Paris, 11 avenue du Président Wilson (map here) from 19th June – 13th September 2009. Open from Tuesday – Sunday from 10am – 6pm. Admission 6€ / 4,50€
