The ‘Paris Quartier d’Été’ Festival 2009
from 15th July – 5th August

A Parisian experience, Art and Culture

Showcasing many different styles and always surprising, this festival livens up the calm of the Parisian summer…

The programme of the 2009 Paris Quartier d’Été festival has just been announced, and if it (generally) avoids big name stars, you have to be impressed by the sheer diversity on offer: dance, equestrian theatre, music (traditional, electronic, jazz/soul, world…), circus, exhibitions, performances…

Amongst the event that have piqued our curiosity, there’s the musical creation called « Dieu à la maison » (God at Home) by Pierre Henry, which is being performed… at Pierre Henry’s house! More info here.

And the ‘vertical dance’ of Retouramont. Their show called Vide Accordé is all done in the air, suspended from wires… More information here.
Several shows are on over a series of nights in different places in both Paris and neighbouring suburbs, leaving you a choice of evening or venues!

For example, you could see Bartabas and his horse show at the Arènes de Lutèce, not far from our hotels , and in the Luxembourg gardens you have the choice between traditional music, Klezmer, soul/jazz and even hip-hop depending on which evening you choose! (programme for the Jardin here).
