The Bastille Day firework display on 14th July 2009
at the Eiffel Tower

A Parisian experience

To mark its 120th anniversary with poise and class, the Eiffel Tower’s famous firework display will be even bigger than usual! Not to be missed if you’re in town. Here’s all the details…

The first part of the evening starts at 7pm with a couple of concerts on the Champs de Mars which runs down from the Eiffel Tower. French middle-of-the-road warbler Chrisophe Maé will strut his stuff before the stage is taken over by the histrionic shrieking of bloated, facelifted Johnny Hallyday, nearly as old as the Eiffel Tower himself.

However, the real event of the night is the firework display. Always massive, this year it should be absolutely epic. Show starts around 10.30/10.45pm. The word on the streets is that it will be a real surprise, making last year’s effort look like a damp squib…

Don’t forget that this popular even draws huge crowds to Trocadéro and the Champs de Mars. Perhaps you might consider viewing the display from Montmartre instead or from the Parc de Belleville. You might get a better view.

In any case, have a great night!
