It’s the year of Turkey in France, and there are loads of events planned: exhibitions, music, readings, shows, debates… even the Eiffel Tower will have a Turkish theme for a while! Here’s the details.

With events on at the Maison européenne de la Photographie, the Maison des Métallos, the 104, the Institut des Cultures d’Islam, the Théâtre du Châtelet and the Théâtre de la Ville, you’ll cerainly have a wide choice during the nine months of the Turkish Season in Paris (Saison de la Turquie à Paris).

- From 15th July – 9th August, the Paris quartier d’été festival with Lever de soleil by Bartabas and the Bohèmes de Thrace
- From 9th – 19th September, special Turkish Ramadan celebrations at the Institut des Cultures d’Islam
- 19th September, special night to celebrate the end of Ramadan at the Théâtre du Châtelet
- From 9th September – 11th October, Ara Güler exhibition, Istanbul, 50’s, 60’s at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie
- At the beginning of October, the Eiffel Tower will be illuminated with Turkey’s colours
- From 13th October – 22th November, exhibition by three contemporary artists, Karagöz shadow theatre, concerts, talks, public readings and films showings at the Cité nationale de l’histoire de l’immigration
- From 3rd – 29th November, Turkey month at the Maison des Métallos
- From 6th November – 7th March 2010, La splendeur de Camondo, de Constantinople à Paris (1806 – 1945) exhibition (Camondo splendour from Contantinople to Paris)
- From 1st December – 31st January , Ornementa Paris / Istanbul exhibition at the Ateliers de Paris
- From 1st – 31st December, The Çukurova region by Yasar Kemal, and exhibition of photos by Lütfi Özgünaydin at the town hall of the 10th arrondissement
- From 15th December – 6th February, an exhibition of sculptures between Sun and Moon, from Sisyphus to Hemera, by Cem Sagbil at the town hall of the 10th arrondissement
- The 5th & 6th December, Turkish book fair at the town hall of the 10th arrondissement and at the offices of the  Elele association
- From 7th January – 6th February, phot exhibition by Ergun Cagatay at the town hall of the 10th arrondissement
- On 27th January at 8pm, theatre: La Joconde et Si-ya-ou by Nazim Hikmet, played by the Théâtre à venir company at the town hall of the 10th arrondissement (in partnership with ACORT)

At the Théâtre de la Ville :
1st February 8.30pm: poetry night with Nazim Hikmet and Genco Erkal
13th February 5pm: Classical Turkish music ensemble Ensemble from Istanbul
20th February 5pm: Zülfü Livaneli

- From 29th March – 5th April, Feldstärke International 2, at the CentQuatre
