The FIAC 2009 International Contemporary Art Fair
at the Grand Palais and in the courtyard of the Louvre (!)
from 21st – 25th October
The most iconic Parisian art fair is back in its two amazing settings with 180 selected galleries and more than 3,500 artists represented…

Johannes Wohnseifer - Smiths Painting
If the le Salon de Collectionneurs left you cold, perhaps some contemporary art can warm you up again? The FIAC is probably the biggest of the yearly art fairs here: simply getting round it is an epic day’s walk (although having the Grand Palais and the Louvre as a backdrop isn’t bad…)

Matthias Bitzer - Zelda
At the same time, a dozen large sculptures and installations can be seen (free!) in the Tuileries gardens, and a few performances are also programmed, such a sound performance by Christian Marclay on Saturday 24th October at 9pm in the Louvre auditorium (free but inscription required here starting 23rd September).
The FIAC runs from 22nd – 25th October 2009 at the Grand Palais from midday – 8p and in the Cour Carrée at the Louvre from 1-9pm (map here). Admission 28€ or 23€ pre-sale (here) before 1st October. Pass for all days of the event 50€. Concessions 15€. Free for under-12s.
