Emilie Simon – a new album and interviews at the
Hôtel Design Sorbonne
Art and Culture, Our favourite things
French musician Emilie Simon has just released her new album The Big Machine, and when looking for a cool and cosy place to do her interviews with the press, the Hôtel Design Sorbonne was a natural choice…
Emilie is best known abroad for her music for the fimThe March of the Penguins, but she’s done loads of suff since then! There was the album Végétal, a live album recorded at Paris’ prestigious l’Olympia (available on CD & DVD) and now The Big Machine, slightly less electronic, with hints of Goldfrapp and Kate Bush and – above all – sung almost entirely in English!
Currenly very busy promoting the album, Emilie chose the intimate and modern setting of the Hôtel Design Sorbonne for her interviews, like this one for Free Musique. In 2’50″ (in French), she explains her influences, inspiration and work method…
We were delighted to have Emilie with us for the day. I’m told she looked lovely and was extremely kind with all the team!
The album The Big Machine is available now on CD and download on the usual sites. More info about Emilie Simon on her official site: www.emiliesimon.com
