A sculpture exhibition called (*deep breath*) “What probably happened to the man who swallowed a ghost” at the Conciergerie until 12th December 2009

You couldn’t make it up, could you? This oddly-named exhibition is the first time that the Pompidou Centre’s new festival has been extended to external sites, with 60 works of art being shown in the (spooky?) setting of the Conciergerie…

Curates by multi-disciplinary artist Christian Rizzo, the sculpture exhibition “Le sort probable de l’homme qui avait avalé le fantôme” is part of the new Centre Pompidou festival (for the French-speakers among you there’s also a blog all about it), with works by Valérie Belin, Shary Boyle, Steven Gontarski, Berlinde de Bruyckere, Ai Weiwei… 60 pieces in the extraordinary setting of the beautiful Conciergerie.

This is the first time that part of the festival is held outside the Pompidou Centre itself, and if you like modern sculpture and beautiful old monuments, you are going to love it to bits. If you prefer modern buildings and watercolours, perhaps you’d be best going somewhere else.

The exhibition “Le sort probable de l’homme qui avait avalé le fantôme” is at the Conciergerie (here) until 12th December 2009. Open every day from 9am – 5pm. Admission 8.50€ / 6€
