There was an operation a couple of years back with tents all along the canal to highlight the homeless problem. They were removed not long afterwards. However, I don't know who ever mentioned that they brought a drugs problem. Homeless people = drugs? These people barely have enough for food. It's got authenticity, charm, convenience, an excellent, inexpensive wine bar and one of the best and bakeries in the city. Looks like a steal to me. Zeva B.
