Turner and the Masters exhibition at the Grand Palais
from 22nd February – 24th May 2010
After being shown at the Tate in London, Turner and the Masters at Paris’ Grand Palais places beautiful masterpieces by Canaletto, Rubens, Rembrandt and Titian next to some of JMW Turner’s most dramatic paintings, shining light on a lesser-known side of the British Romantic painter: his obsession to prove he was just as good, if not better, than the old masters who he so admired.
With more than 100 paintings and drawings from British and American collections, as well as loans from the Louvre, the Prado and English museums, this is a very special chance to see a collection of Turner’s work in Paris…

Exposition Turner et ses peintres au Grand Palais

Après un passage au Tate Gallery de Londres, l’exposition « Turner et ses peintres » au Grand Palais retrace et illustre la construction de la vision de Turner, riche de rencontres multiples, fortuites ou provoquées, mais toujours opportunes et fécondes, tout au long de sa remarquable carrière.
Elle rassemble près de 100 tableaux et œuvres graphiques (études, gravures) provenant de grandes collections britanniques et américaines, des musées du Louvre, du Prado, et de Londres.

After a rather nice lunch at Ze Kitchen Galerie in early 2008, we were obviously excited to hear that they had opened a second, smaller (sweeter?) restaurant just down the road. Plus, chef William Ledeuil has just won the 2010 « best chef of the year » award in the new GaultMillau guide. Perfect!

Avec le bon souvenir, que nous avions d’un déjeuner à Ze Kitchen Galerie en 2008, nous avons eu envie de tester l’annexe qui se trouve dans la même rue. De plus, le chef William Ledeuil vient de recevoir le Prix 2010 du «meilleur chef de l’année» par Gault et Millau
