Playmobil exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs until 9th May 2010

Art and Culture

It’s the nearest things we have to a toy museum in the city, and even if it does look blatantly sponsored, how can you resist revisiting your childhood with these adorable characters?

It’s the first Playmobil exhibition in France (yippee!), 35 years after the brand was started (and since then 2.2 billion little non-biodegradeable blokes have been made. Wow!).

As well as giant scenes of the circus, knights, pirates, Vikings, cowboys, Indians and animals, the exhibition will help you understand the evolution of the toys since 1974, how they were initially conceived, how they’ve been marketed over the years… with – of course – loads of workshops for kids, but also guided tours for adults!

The Playmobil exhibition is at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs (here) until 9th May 2010. Open every day except Mondays, from 11am – 6pm during the week, 10am – 6pm weekends (and late until 9pm Thursdays). Admission 9€ / 7,5€

For more info (in French), check the officiel site of the Musée des Art Décoratifs.
