Paris d’Amour (Taking a Chance on Love in Paris),
an exhibition by Gérard Uféras at Hôtel de Ville
from 6th May – 31st July 2010

Art and Culture, Photography

Paris is the city of love, and Gérard Uféras show us how to take photos that capture this love. He attended 70 civil unions and marriages and the result is and exhibition that « celebrates love, tolerance and freedom. »
Not everyone is allowed to get married, and not all unions are celebrated in the same way, but through his photo exhibition Gérard Uféras hopes to give an optimistic (utopic?) message that love is universal… especially in Paris. « We all want a life of harmony, where each person is free to find love and construct their life in a world of tolerance and respect. In Paris, we are lucky to live in a place that allows and encourages this. »

Hmm… ANyway, you’ll be able to see in the hundred or so photos on show quite a lot of joy, a few tears, and probably quite a bit of rice (it’s what the French throw instead of confetti!).

The Paris d’Amour exhibition by Gérard Uféras is at Hôtel de Ville (here) from 6th May – 31st July 2010. Open every day from 10am – 7pm except Sundays and public holidays. Admission free.
