You already know that the lovely Anne Gelbard is looking after the interior design of our new hotel, but perhaps you didn’t realise that she’s creating numerous exclusive elements especially for us, making the hotel completely unique…

Work on La Belle Juliette continues, and the choice of furniture, fabrics and even paint is being made. As well as sourcing beautiful furniture and objects from the best designers, and relooking old elements, Anne Gelbard will also be designing some pieces especially for us, from furniture to lampshades.

In the main stairway – 4 floors, 14 metres high – Anne will draw an exclusive panorama, forming a landscape, much like windows looking out onto the world. Also, for the rooms, the bedside draperies will be specially painted and leafed by Anne’s workshop.

We asked Ludovic Avenel to restore and update some the hotel’s pervious furniture. He’ll also be helping out with the furniture at reception.

The friezes on the ground floor are inspired by book cover designs, taken from books about Juliette Récmaier, and will be executed by Catherine de Couessin following a design by Anne Gelbard.

The curtains in the Rubans salon (kakemono) will be by Luc Druez (LCD) following a design by Anne Gelbard, using velvet by Dedar (Milan).

All the paint used is the fruit of a collaboration between the venerable Tollens company, and comes from our own special range made speifically for the hotel.

But even if Anne has talent in spades, she can’t do everything! Here are a few examples of beautiful things she has chosen to give La Belle Juliette its unique charme:

The restaurant’s crockery will be a special creation by Sandrine Ganem. Other pieces are taken from the Galet collection by Deshoulières.

On the upstairs levels, wallpaper is by Osborne & Little. The patinas on the Italian-themed floor will be handled by Catherine de Couessin and made to ressemble an abstract landscape!

In the toilets, for a humorous touch, the wallpaper is from Belgian Herman van Peer and complemented by fake ostrich skin by Texam.
On the ground floor (salons, restaurant, bar…) you’ll find the Saarinen table by Knoll…
And the Meteor table designed by Arik Levi
Here are a few more examples for other furniture (where you can see how Scandanavian and retro design are favourites):

- ‘Icicle’ table by Thomas Pedersen (Denmark)
- Chair designed in 1959 by N.O. Møller (Denmark)

- Chair byJens Risom (1941)
Beautiful tables by Heerenhuis

Eames

Jieldé lamps
For the fabrics:

And the gardens are designed by Thierry Dalcant, landscape architect and graduate of the national school of landscape architecture in Versailles (l’École nationale supérieure du paysage).
