Karl Lagerfeld photo exhibition at the MEP in Paris
from 8th September – 31st October 2010

Art and Culture, Photography

Karl Lagerfeld is not only a hugely talented fashion designer and music-lover (legend has it that he even has a ‘nanny’ to look after his 100+ iPods) but also – of course – a successful and accomplished photographer. He even did the Pirelli calendar this year.

For the first time, La Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris is holding a large exhibition of his work, looking back over the many years of his career…Gosh it’s annoying (or perhaps inspiring?), those multi-talented people who can do fashion, music and photographer without even breaking a sweat! Karl Lagerfeld has been designing fashion since the fifties (yep, he’s 76 now!) and taking photos since 1987; fashion photos of course, but also landscapes, architecture… The man has continually reinvented himself, losing 42 kilos along the way, and never taking himself too seriously, despite the permanent non-smile that would make you think otherwise.

This exhibition show not only the photos that Karl has taken professionally, but also more personal works where he plays with the possibilities of photo development. The most stylish exhibition of the new season? The Karl Lagerfeld photo exhibition is at the MEP (here) from 8th September – 31st October 2010.

Open every day except Mondays, Tuesday and public holidays from 11am – 8pm. Admission: 6.50€ / 3.50€. Free on Wednesdays from 5 – 8pm.
