Brunettes, Blondes exhibition and lots of other great stuff this autumn at the Cinémathèque française

An exhibition about the influence and importance of actress’ hairdos, a Kubrick exhibition net year, a Larry Clark weekend with thé man himself, a cycle of David Lynch films with Lynch présent tau, a Lubitsch rétrospective… the Paris Cinémathèque has a lot line up for the next few months.Don’t let the title « Brunettes, Blondes » discourage you; this exhibition from the 6th October 2010 – 16th January 2011 will also include redheads (!), long hair, short hair and all the woman whose barnet has left its mark in film history. Other related events include 50 cult films by Lynch, Burton, Hitchcock, Tarantino, Demy, Chaplin, Varda and Alomodovar… plus, a number of conferences and a catalogue entitled « Brunettes, Blondes, hair in Art and cinema ».
But that’s just a part of what awaits you in the beautiful Frank Gehry-designed building in the 12th district of Paris. There are also a huge number of film retrospectives (Lubitsch, Breillat, Delphine Seyrig, Larry Clark, David Lynch, Jean-Pierre Melville…),visits from Clark and Lynch themselves, cycles of films for children… and next year a Stanley Kubrick exhibition (from 23rd March – 31st July 2011) that looks essential.
