We visit the astonishing Musée Guimet
and the Buddhist Pantheon
We obviously knew of the Musée Guimet’s reputation – they have one of the most important collections os Asian art outside of the continent itself – and we knew that the place have been completely renovated not so long ago, but for some reason we had never got round to actually going (perhaps that’s the proof that Paris can still surprise you even when you live there). Perhaps we were convinced that we didn’t like Asian art.
Going through the museum’s large and numerous exhibition rooms, 5.000m² that reminded us of the Guggenheims of both New York Bilbao, was a revelation. Here’s our photo report…

Nous visitons le Musée Guimet
et le Panthéon bouddhique
Nous connaissions la réputation du Musée Guimet – une des plus importantes collections d’art asiatique en dehors de l’Asie – et nous savions que le musée avait été entièrement rénové il n’y a pas si longtemps, mais étrangement nous ne l’avions jamais visité, sans doute convaincus que nous n’aimions pas l’art asiatique. Arriver dans les grands espaces du musée, 5.000m² qui nous ont rappelés à la fois les Guggenheim à New York et Bilbao, a été une vraie révélation. Voici notre visite en photos…
