Cannes 2011 Directors’ Fortnight at the Forum des Images in Paris from 25th May – 5th June 2011

Art and Culture

The Cannes Film Festival is in full swing, but if you’re stuck in boring old Paris, do not despair; part of the Festival will soon be winging its way to you! The entire programme of films from the La Quinzaine des Réalisateurs (Directors’ Fortnight) will soon be at the Forum des Images.Paris is not the world capital of cinema… at least it’s not for two weeks every May, when all eyes turn to Cannes. If you’re not planning on making the jaunt down to our lovely Riviera, no worries; Cannes will come to you (or some of it, at least). The artiest, most experimental and passionate part of the festival (or so say the organisers) will be setting up shop in Paris from 25th May, repeating the entire selection shown at the DIrectors’ Fortnight this year in Cannes, i.e. 40 full-length films and a whole string of short ones, often followed by talks with the directors themselves after the showings. Beat that, Cannes!

You can find the programme of the Directors’ Fortnight at the Forum des Images here (alas, in French only). The Forum des Images is buried at the bottom of the Les Halles shopping centre (here).
