Visit the places where Martin Scorsese filmed the movie Hugo in Paris

The Paris city council has an astounding 900 movie shoots to look after each year, and for the biggest projects they also prepare film trails so you can see where the movies were shot.

After Inception and Midnight In Paris, the latest film trail is for Martin Scorsese’s new movie, Hugo, and two of the locations just next to our hotels! You might recall that we mentioned that Martin Scorsese was filming near the Hôtel du Panthéon and the Hôtel des Grands Hommes in August 2010. His movie, Hugo, has just been released, and the films trail prepared by the Paris city council is an interesting read.

I learned, for example, that the Gare Montparnasse station seen in the film is actually an architectural mix of Gare du Nord and Gare de Lyon.

And perhaps you’ll recognise the auditorium of the Sorbonne (opposite the Hôtel Design Sorbonne) or the Sainte Geneviève library that we talked about here.To have a look at the film trail (including a link to download and/or print it out) click the first button bottom left of the image below to see it in fullscreen mode, or simply click here.
