The Foire du Trône giant funfair in Paris from 29th March – 29th May 2013

It’s billed as the biggest funfair in Europe, and it’s coming to Paris once again for two months of hair-raising rides and traditional stalls…

Here’s all the info…La Foire du Trône du 29 mars au 29 mai 2013

First of all, if you’re in town right now, you might like to take part in the opening night – 25€ for unlimited access to all the rides (some of which can cost up to 10 euros normally) all evening. Not a bad deal, and all for charity.  Make sure you book in advance here, here or here.

However, that’s not the only event on offer this year.

There’s a special family day, la Grande Cavalcade, a sort of carnaval that sets off from Bastille and winds its way towards the pelouse de Reuilly where the Foire du Trône is, a Portugese day (that has to be seen to be believed), the election of Esméralda, a sort of Miss Funfair France…

All of the above is happening sometime in May (exact dates not decided yet). The only thing you can sketch into your diary for the moment is the traditional firework display on 1st May.

The Foire du Trône is on the pelouse de Reuilly (here) from 29th March – 29th May 2013

Open every day from midday to midnight. Late night opening until 1am on Saturdays and the night before public holidays

Don’t even think of taking a car down there! You’ll spend hours looking for a place to park. Public transport is by far the best bet
