Organised by Unesco and the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz, International Jazz Day is back for its second year in Paris (although Istanbul is the centre of things for 2013) with 28 concerts and 48 events centred around the jazz clubs in Châtelet.

On 30th April 2013 Le Baiser Salé, Le Duc des Lombards, Le Sunside and Le Sunset will be jazzing even more than usual – these are the four Parisian establishments that will be representing our fine city for International Jazz Day this year.

Expect a host of concerts of course (one every hour), but also showcases, masterclasses, jazz talks about the music industry, and more… The official UNESCO PDF has a clear schedule to help you plan your day here.Just be warned that although the concerts are free, you do need to sign up for them in advance (places are limited).
