Parisian public transport free all night long for New Year’s Eve 2013

Don’t worry about not finding a taxi on 31st December 2013 in Paris – as usual for New Year’s Eve all metros, buses and RER trains will be free from 5pm until midday the next day.

However, not all metro stations will be open. We have all the details…

So, let’s get it all clear:

Before 5pm on 31st December 2013: you’ll need a ticket to use public transport.
From 5pm on 31st December until midday 1st January 2014: all public transport is free
Metro runs as normal until around 2.15am
From 2.15am – 5.30am six métro lines will be running, but only certain stations (and some entrances may be closed even for those).

Nightbuses will also be running, although instead of leaving from Châtelet as usual they’ll be departing from the main stations. You can check out the details on the official site here.
