The 2014 Paris Agriculture Show at Porte de Versailles
from 22nd February – 2nd March 2014

If you’re a visitor to Paris and haven’t ever been to the Salon de l’Agriculture, you probably don’t know that it’s a thinly-shrouded excuse to snaffle free food and glug free wine.

Oh, and there are sheep and cows to see too. Here are all the details.

Divided into four main sections, the Salon de l’Agriculture is h-u-g-e, filling every last hall of the vast Porte de Versailles exhibition complex.

– Livestock breeding (five hangars with all kinds of farm animals, plus cats & dogs!)

– Gastronomy from France and beyond (the two biggest galls, with copious amounts of grub and booze, plus lots of products to buy, obviously)

– Crops, plants, nature and lifestyle

– Agricultural services and professions

We have a sneaking feeling that most people stroke a cow or two, then spend the rest of their time ‘tasting’ the free food and wine on offer, but we might be wrong. 😉

The Salon is also when various contests are held to find the animal of the year, the wine of the year and, er, the best flowerbed of the year. There are also loads of activities for kids and a whole lot more.
