Louis-Émile Durandelle exhibition at the
Musée des Art Décoratifs library until 30th April 2014

You may not know the name of Louis-Émile Durandelle (I certainly didn’t), but this 19th century photographer specialised in taking shots of architecture, immortalising a few small projects like the construction of the Paris Opera, Sacré-Coeur, Mont Saint-Michel, the Eiffel Tower

An exhibition that mixes the history of Paris, photography and architecture? We are so there.

Here’s all the info.

Centred around Durandelle’s documentation of work at the Mont Saint-Michel around 1872, with sixty-odd astonishing photos, the library’s archives also contain photo showing the progress of some of Paris’ biggest construction projects at the end of the 19th century.
