The Paris Big Wheel on place de la Concorde
until 1st March 2016

Will you be one of the 300,000 people to go for a spin on the brand new big wheel this Christmas in Paris, and get a spectacular view of the Champs-Elysées, Eiffel Tower and the Tuileries Gardens?

Read our article for the opening hours, ticket prices and direction for getting there simply from our hotels.

Even with 48 heated pods, one of which can take wheelchair users, there’s still likely to be a long line for the new big wheel that’s now standing proudly over place de la Concorde for Xmas and the two months afterwards.

The 2015 big wheel replaces the previous one, is 8 metres higher and has 6 more pods than the previous model. It also has special livery ready for the Euro 2016 next June.

The owner hopes his licence will be extended so he can keep the big wheel in place all summer. Officially, the authorities have yet to decide…

In any case, from 65 metres up you’ll have a crazy beautiful view of the Musée d’Orsay, Jeu de Paume, Grand Palais and right down the Champs Elysées, which are of course also illuminated for the holiday season.

You can ride any time between 11am and midnight (1am on Fridays and Saturdays) and tickets cost 10€ for adults and 5€ for kids under 10 years old.

Just check the weather before you go – if it’s really inclement, the big wheel could well be shut.

The Grande Roue de Paris is on place de la Concorde (here) until 1st March 2016 (and perhaps through the summer)

Open 11am-midnight (1am Fridays and Saturdays)

Admission: 10€ / 5€
