Exhibition of Noureddine Amir’s Sculpted Dresses
at the Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent Foundation
until 3rd April 2016

The first exhibition in France to be entirely dedicated to the Moroccan fashion designer Noureddine Amir and his extraordinary dresses. And it’s free!

Here’s all the info.
Exposition des Robes Sculptures de Noureddine Amir à la Fondation Pierre Bergé - Yves Saint Laurent jusqu'au 3 avril 2016Born in 1967, Noureddine Amir works in Marrakesh where he creates his dress-sculpture hybrids using unusual materials such as raffia, henna-printed fabric and hessian mixed with silk chiffon.

The long dresses are formed very much like modern sculptures, with impeccably minimalist lines that use the materials to their best effect.

As the man himself says:

“I accumulate mountains of materials. Then I feel them, I mix them, I experiment… I begin in the middle, the belly around which I create the dress. And I never know at what point I’ll stop. The form creates itself. It is born out of the material.”

Sophisticated and detailed, the dresses are presented like pieces in a museum, with a dramatic background and lighting. A sensorial experience to see… for free!
