Paris firemen exhibition at Hôtel de Ville until 29th April 2017

Learn all about the men and women who risk their lives on a daily basis for Paris’ inhabitants, doing a lot more than simply fighting fires.

Here’s all the info.

Created by imperial decree by Napoleon in 1811, the Bataillon de sapeurs-pompiers de Paris shows it rigour, discipline and devotion on a daily basis.

Since 1967, their mission of urgent intervention and fire prevention extends to the Paris suburbs, and this exhibition – marking the 50th anniversary of this enlarged perimeter – show how the job of a Paris fireman/woman has evolved and been transformed. New challenges – urban, technical and natural – have to faced every day.
The exhibition shows the wide variety of different posts within the fire service, including medical aid and work underwater, and the physical training necessary to do the job properly!

Would you be prepared  to do their job?
