When man ponders nature, his thought often include a certain mysticism, a questioning of our place in the universe.
Conceived in collaboration with the Art Gallery of Ontario, Beyond the Stars. The Mystical Landscape from Monet to Kandinsky offers a new approach to appreciating landscape painting by concentrating on the mystical questionings of 20th century artists such as Monet, Gauguin, Klimt, Munch and Van Gogh.
Severeal events are being organised around the exhibition, the most intriguing of which is the Curieuse nocturne on Thursday 23rd March from 6.30-11pm with concerts, projections and poetry.
There are also several talks, concerts, a cycle of films, guided visits (including one in sign language), workshops, two stage shows for the family… and of course the exhibition catalogue (272 pages, 150 illustrations, 24€ here at amazon.fr).
