Le Mois de la Photo (Paris Photo Month) now extends beyond the city limits – and we encourage you to explore – but you might like to know that there are already some superb exhibitions on offer just minutes from our hotels!

So the good news is that le Mois de la Photo provides a map on their website (PDF) showing all the exhibitions on offer. The bad news is that it’s a useless hot mess…
Lucky that we’re to help then, eh? ?  Here’s a quick list of some excellent exhibitions very close to our hotels.

Roger Schall – Paris in the 1930s

The Argentic Gallery (here) is showing a selection of beautiful black and white shots, most never seen before. You’ ve probably never seen Paris like this before.

And for the special intense south-west weekend event (on 22nd & 23rd April), the gallery is having a photo book sale, with prices from 10 euros to 1,000€.

Willy Maywald and fashion

The Galerie Dina Vierny (here) has around twenty fashion shots by Willy Maywald to show you. Taken in the 1950s and 60s, they showcase dresses by Balenciaga, Givenchy, Dior…

Paolo Woods & Gabriele Galimberti – The Heavens: Annual Report

The Centre Assas (here) is hosting this exhibition showing what offshore tax havens look like, the aura of secrecy that surrounds them and the obscene levels of wealth of those involved.

It’s a project by Paolo Woods & Gabriele Galimberti, and a smart book of the project is available in English here.

Don McCullin – Looking East

La Galerie Folia (here) is showing original prints by Don McCullin, who often concentrates on the darker side of life – war, misery, revolution…

You can also meet the artist on Saturday 22nd April between 4.30 and 6pm.
And of course there’s a lot, lot more on offer: Erwin Blumenfeld at the Docks, Autophoto at the Fondation Cartier, Cartier-Bresson at the Cartier Bressin Fondation…
