The HSBC Photography Prize winner at the Galerie Esther Woerdehoff until 10th June 2017

Laura Pannack & Mélanie Wenger are the two winners of the this year’s Prix HSBC pour la Photographie, and you can see some photos by both of them at the Galerie Esther Woerdehoff, very close to our hotels.

Laura Pannack is an English photographer born in 1985. Her work often focalises on questions in society, where she tries to analyse the complex relationship between subjects and photographers.

Already the winner of some international prizes, she can now add the Prix HSBC pour la Photographie to her list of successes.

Mélanie Wenger is a Belgian photographer born in Brussels in 1987, represented by the Cosmos agency.

After having worked on series concerning Libya, Malta and Africa, her series called « Marie-Claude, the doll lady », showing intimate scenes from the life of an old woman in an isolated part of Brittany, grabbed the attention of the HSBC judges.

The two photographer will each have a book published with their work (for the first time), HSBC France will buy six photos from each for its photo fund, and five exhibitions will be organised in France or aborad.

The company will also provide aid for the production of new photos over the coming year, an thses will be shown in the fifth and final exhibition.
