Before the Incas, Gods & Kings in Ancient Peru exhibition at the Quai Branly Museum
14th November 2017 – 1st April 2018

Yep, Peru had many different inhabitants before the famous Incas!

If the names Chimú, Cupisnique and Moche mean nothing to you, don”t panic – this new exhibition will explain everything, and offer some interesting ways to visit, like the brand new pre-office visit at 7am with free breakfast!

Oh, and it’s very close to our hotels! Here’s all the info.
Exposition Le Pérou avant les Incas au Musée de Quai Branly du 14 novembre 2017 au 1 avril 2018If, like us, you thought that the Incas were basically the only people to have lived in ancient Peru, it’s time to wise up.

Apparently, many cultures existed before the Incas, starting in the northern desserts of the country, although most of them have now been forgotten.

This new exhibition at the Quai Branly Museum explains how these peoples built their societies, and show what they have left us – ceramics, jewellery and sculptures, but also clues about their architecture, funeral rites and divinities.

For the first time, on 24th November and 1st December, the museum is organising a before-work visit of the exhibition.

Way before they open for the day, you can visit the exhibition from 7-9am and eat a free breakfast!

Apart from that, there’s a Latin American before party on 24th November from 7pm-midnight with guided visits, performances, workshops and DJ sets, and two conferences are slated for the end of March 2018.

A catalogue of the exhibition is also available (224 pages, 180 illustrations, 45€ here at amazon.fr)
