What better place than the Champs Elysées to celebrate the arrival of 2018?

For the fourth year running, the Paris city council is organising a show with HD projections onto the Arc de Triomphe to celebrate the beginning of 2018.

The evening is a three-part affair:

– First of all, starting 11pm, there’s a mysterious ‘pre-show’ that should help you get warmed up

– Then, the show proper on the theme of ‘Parisian life’ starts at 11.40pm

– And to finish off in style, there’s the countdown to midnight and a ‘pyrotechnical finale’ (i.e. fireworks)
The area around the Arc de Triomphe will be shut to traffic, and to get home safely we recommend public transport (which will be free from 5pm on 31st December to midday on 1st January, and running a reduced service all night).

You should also know that for NYE, bottles and other glass containers are not allowed on the Champs-Elysées between 8pm and 5am.

The police will be there in force to make sure that nothing gets out of hand and everyone stays safe.
