For a safe return after celebrating the New Year, the RATP (who runs our public transport system) is making Paris’ metro, bus and RER system free for the night of 31st December 2018.

First of all, you should know that the whole network (apart from the Orlyval automatic train at Orly airport) will be free, starting 5pm on 31st December, and will continue to be so until midday on 1st January 2018.

During the night, a normal service will be in place until just after 2am, after which metro lines 1, 2, 4, 6, 9 & 14 will continue to function with a reduced service until around 5.30am (when normal service will start again).

Please note: only certain stations will be open, and some entrances to stations may be closed (use the main ones to enter).
