Pierre et Gilles exhibition Le temps imaginaire at the Daniel Templon Gallery
13th January – 10th March 2018
The French artists Pierre et Gilles return to the Templon Galerie with their colourful photos (and added touches of paint), this time as an ode to tolerance and freedom called… le temps imaginaire.
It’s hard to believe that queer artists Pierre Commoy and Gilles Blanchard have been doing their thing since the late 1970s. Whether their subjects are stars or young unknowns, their extravagant colour palette, added touches of paint and almost surreal backdrops make their work instantly recognisable.
Recently, they’ve gone even further by creating the frames for each unique work. They are unstoppable…
In this new exhibition, you’ll see quite a few unknown faces (and bodies) as well as Dita Von Teese, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Isabelle Huppert (as well as a fake Michael Jackson and Gérard Depardieu!). There’s even a self-portrait with the artists impersonating football fans!
All this can be yours to take home at a modest price – a catalogue of the exhibition has just been published for just 30€, available here at amazon.fr. 😛
The Pierre et Gilles exhibition Le temps imaginaire is at the Daniel Templon Gallery (here) from 13th January au 10th March 2018
Open every day except Sundays from 10am-7pm
