Want to understand the stained glass windows at Sainte-Chapelle? There’s an app for that!

Sainte-Chapelle is close to our hotels>, and we went down to see its new, sparkly, restored interior and stained glass windows for a blog article in May 2015, remember?

Well, it’s shame that the app they’ve just released didn’t exist then!

Available on the App Store and Google Play, it opens with a quick explanation of how to use it, and then lets you simply point your phone camera at a stained glass window scene before giving you its name and a quick description of what’s depicted.

For the furthest away of the windows, the app can show them enlarged on your screen. You should also know that it’s completely free, and available in six languages (French, Italian, Spanish, German, English and even Chinese)!
