If you like the Hotel Baume and its Art Deco interior design, this exhibition is for you!
For the first time in France, the École des Arts Joailliers (also known as the Van Cleef & Arpels School) is presenting a selection of objects from the exceptional collection of Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan (who died in 2003), exquisite boxes belonging to his wife Catherine.
Here’s all the info.
These incredibly detailed objects – cigarette boxes, powder holders and more – were created in he 1920s for the first ‘liberated’ women who weren’t afraid to go out, smoke or touch up their make-up in public.
After being exposed in the exhibition ‘The Jazz Age: American Style in the 1920s‘ at the Cooper Hewitt Museum in New York, the presentation at the École des Arts Joailliers highlights the many Chniese, Japanese, Persian and European influences in Art Deco.
And the exhibition is free! No excuse not to go 😜
The exhibition Precious Art Deco Objects is at the School of Jewellery Arts (here) until 25th April 2018
