The Nights of the Stars at the Tour Montparnasse, 3rd-5th August 2018

For three nights, the 56th floor of the Tour Montparnasse – not far from our hotels – will be the best place in Paris to see the Nights of the Stars!
Les Nuits des Étoiles à la Tour Montparnasse du 3 au 5 août 2018
Even in the city you can wonder at the stars, and Venus and Mars (if the weather doesn’t get in the way!)

Les Nuits des Étoiles (Stars Nights) is organised by the French Astronomy Association (AFA) and happens once a year in the summer, during a special period – this is when you have the greatest chance of seeing some shooting stars!

While there are events organised all over France (and elsewhere), the only place in Paris taking part is the Tour Montparnasse, in collaboration with the AFA.

Astronomers from the association will be on the roof of the tower (the 59th floor) from 8pm onwards on the 3rd, 4th & 5th August to help you:

– watch the setting sun (around 9.30pm)
– see Venus, Jupiter and Saturn, and
– scan the skies for the brightest stars

Five telescopes will be available for you to use.

And on the 56th floor, there’s also:

– A number of conferences
– A workshop about exploring space digitally, and
– A photo exhibition

It’s all free once you’ve bought your ticket to go up to the top, and the fun ends around midnight (11.30pm Sunday, last entrance 30 minutes before closing).

Don’t forget to book your ticket in advance, because space is limited and it’s going to be busy!
