Le Grand Palais des Glaces – a giant ice rink at the Grand Palais, 16th December 2018 – 9th January 2019

They say it’s the biggest indoor, temporary ice rink in the world (probably true), and it’s back for the fourth edition of Grand Palais des Glaces, with special evening events and 2,700 m² of ice!

Ice skating in the jaw-dropping setting of the Grand Palais may well be one of the most memorable things you can do in Paris this Christmas.

During the day, you’ll appreciate the natural ligh that floods that giant space, with sun and blue skies above you. In the afternoon, you’ll be able to enjoy the change from day to night and see the nave illuminated.

But it’s at night that things really get crazy (hopefull worth the eye-watering 29€ entrance fee). Until 2am, the Grand Palais des Glaces turns into a huge nightclub, with DJs and a giant glitterball.

In the centre of the rink, you’ll also be able to admire a 7m resin sculpture called Standing Wild Bear, by artist Richard Orlinski.

And if you start feeling a little peckish after all that ‘sport’, feel free to tuck into a hotdog at the venue’s ‘Café Jules’. They even have a hotdog created specially for the event called the Jules de Noël! ??
