On Bastille Day, the 14th July, the Eiffel Tower will be closing earlier than usual (2pm) because of preparations for the city’s biggest firework display!
Each year has a special theme, and this year it’s Les Fédérations (The Federations – not quite sure what they mean, but we imagine it will all become clear).
The fireworks start at 11pm and last around 35 minutes.
The best places to sit (make sure you arrive a few hours early) are on the Champs-de-Mars (so you get both the lightshow and the music), place du Trocadéro near the Palais de Chaillot or – a little further but with a good view – on the Alexandre III bridge.Joe deSousa
And if you really want Bastille Day 2019 to be unforgettable, perhaps you might consider booking a tour on the Seine for that evening, with or without diner. Make sure you book in advance!
