The American artist of Japanese origin Jacob Hashimoto presents his strange but enchanting constructions at the Galerie Italienne, made up of thousands of miniature ‘kites’, influenced by nature, air and the infinite.
Jacob Hashimoto’s sculpture-picture are intriguing, with superimposed colourful circles that evoke nature, geometric patterns, water…
Suspended with nylon threads, they are a like a collection of little kites, with a depth that reveals different details depending on the direction from which you are viewing.
The creations also have pop culture influences and hints of ancestral Japanese craftsmanship, playing on transparency and mixing both intricacy and order.
The exhibition runs for five weeks, and if you’d like to attend the opening party, it’s happening on Thursday 16th January 2020 starting at 6pm!
