Hotel rooms continue to inspire interior design! And the rooms of the Hotel Baume, remixing early 20th century style, are a perfect example: order, colour and geometry: the essential elements of  Art deco, sublimely used by the two designers and six themes (Perfume, Jewellery, Fashion, Cinema, Architecture and Private Club).

The Art Deco period is a goldmine of idea for anyone who loves interior design: it was an extravagant but elegant period, chic, golden, graphic… timeless! The iconic style elements of the era can be seen in the 35 rooms and suites. Let’s take a look at a few ideas that anyone can personalise and adapt, depending on their style and home.

The lobby of the Hotel Baume brings Art Deco up to date:
• through the choice of colour (shades of grey, mustard and pink)
• through the choice of furniture (Munna, Koket, Artemis, Arne Jacobsen, Marie’s Corner, Porta Romana, Knoll, MOOI)
• through the forms that symbolise modernism and discreet luxury.

VERY ‘GREAT GATSBY’

A symbol of glamour and luxury, many of the design codes are present: the use of polished metals, precious wood, patterned carpeting, dark leather and geometric wallpaper. At the Hotel Baume, the colours blue, orange and camel reinvent a masculine atmosphere; certain details in the furniture remind one of the wild years of Shanghai private clubs or great Transatlantic voyages.

A MIX AND MATCH OF CAREFULLY SELECTED OBJECTS

Vintage items, like the powder compacts under Plexiglas® in the lobby, share the space with the modern jewellery (designed by Anna Rivka) in display cases in the Jewellery rooms. The engravings in the Fashion rooms are originals from the 1932 maison Pernet collection by Madame Jeannest.

FABULOUS MIRRORS AS HEADBOARDS

Designers Thibaut Fron and Thierry Martin chose Christopher Guy, known for his sophisticated and original creations, to make the heaboards in the rooms and suites.

REPRODUCTIONS OF PHOTOS OF PERFUME FROM THE ERA

Humbled together and superimposed, or just framed, the images of perfumes guide visitors through the corridors to their room.

WHICH IDEA(S) CAN WE TAKE FROM THE ART DÉCO PERIOD?
