Presenting Soufiane Akaaboune who works at the reception and booking department of the Hotel Baume, who tells us a little about his background…

I will always remember my first experience in the hotel trade. It was during my economics studies at the University of Lorraine. I was able to work in a boutique hotel to help finance my studies, and the experience was both positive and revelatory.

Being curious about other cultures, and a fan of travel, I was immediately taken by the world of the hotel trade and very soon decided it would be my profession.

My career in the HPRG group started as a replacement receptionist at the Hôtel des Grands Hommes: one of the 3-star hotels in the group. There, I was able to get more in-depth knowledge about the world of hotels, helped by a dynamic and passionate team of employees.

As the group offers the chance of advancing, I took a post as receptionist-concierge offered by the Hotel Baume, the new 4-star hotel in the HPRG collection. This opportunity then allowed me to apply for the post of booking agent at the Hotel Baume and develop my commercial skills.

The Hotel Baume is situated in the heart of Saint-Germain, and has interior design inspired by the 1930s. The emphasis is on service and tailoring stays to the guests’ needs. This corresponds perfectly with the idea I have of the hotel trade, and the values of hospitality that I endeavour to show guests.

The atmosphere of the group and the work environment allow employees to express their talents and improve themselves in order to offer the best possible service to our guests. Attention to detail and perfectionism help us maintain our quality.
