After the retrospective at the Grand Palais, the work of Niki de Saint Phalle, centred on the theme of the representation of the female body, is being shown at the Galerie Georges-Philippe & Nathalie Vallois.

The exhibition is called Belles ! Belles ! Belles ! and it’s very close to our hotels.

At HPRG, we are not afraid to show our feminine side with hotels called la Belle Juliette and the Dames du Panthéon, (although that doesn’t stop us from also celebrating the Grands Hommes!)

It’s only normal then that this new exhibition by Niki de Saint Phalle, just minutes from our hotels should interest us. If you’re not sure who Niki de Saint Phalle is, you might know her from the crazy water-spurting creations just next to the Pompidou Centre ?

Her female sculptures are easy to spot – big, round and colourful – and are yet all different (much like women are all different). In the exhibition, you’ll see creations of all shapes and sizes and lots of wild colours, purposefully out of the ordinary, as if yo prove that beauty is always strange.

Around twenty works will be on show, including som of her most emblematic piece from the 60s and 70s, from her famous ‘Nanas’ to some very singular sculptures.

A catalogue of the exhibition, printed like a “woman’s magazine” is also available, with commentary from over a dozen critics.
